Project: Creative Art Strategy – Hotel Project, Victoria

Location: Victoria

Art Consultancy: SW Art Consulting

SW Art Consulting was engaged to develop a comprehensive creative art strategy for a new boutique hotel in Victoria. The approach focused on embedding contemporary Australian art into the DNA of the guest experience — creating a collection that is both grounded in place and generous in spirit.

Drawing on the site’s natural, cultural and architectural context, the strategy centred around the concept of “quiet resonance” — allowing artworks to support rest, spark conversation, and subtly reflect the rhythms of place.

Working closely with the client, design team and local community, SW Art Consulting proposed a staged framework for acquisition, commissioning and presentation — identifying opportunities for site-specific installations, integrated design elements, and rotating exhibition moments.

The proposed artist matrix includes a dynamic mix of emerging and established Australian artists, with particular attention given to First Nations voices, material storytelling, and sustainable making practices.

This strategic foundation allows for an art collection that is not just decorative, but deeply experiential — offering guests meaningful connection to place, while elevating the hotel’s identity through a curated cultural lens.
